Steve Winstead serves as the International Director for Downline Ministries. Steve’s main responsibility with DownLine is leading disciple-making conferences around the world for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. He equips teams, builds team leaders, and leads foreign mission teams for the purpose of training in discipleship. He also is a Bible and discipleship teacher within the DownLine Institute. He has traveled on over 40 foreign mission trips to places that include East Asia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, South Korea, India, Zambia, Ghana, Ethiopia, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Sri Lanka, and the Holy Lands. Before joining DownLine Ministries Steve spent 11 years as a youth minister, first in Kentucky and then in Tennessee.
He was raised in Kentucky and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Kentucky. He received his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and his Doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has also done course work at Dallas Theological Seminary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Steve is an Adjunct Professor of Bible and Theology at Victory University (teaching Old Testament, Church History, and Systematic Theology).
Steve and his wife Margaret, a certified counselor and stay at home mom, frequently counsel engaged couples preparing for marriage. Steve enjoys shepherding his family, teaching God’s word, discipling young men, and running marathons (12 so far including Boston). He and Margaret have three sons – Samuel, Noah, and Benjamin.
